志田焼の里博物館

志田焼の里博物館 Shidayaki No Sato Museum (Shida Ware Museum)

   志田焼の里博物館は、志田焼を作っていた工場を保存し、博物館としてよみがえらせた施設です。歴史的にも高く評価されており、平成28年4月に文化庁により「日本遺産」に認定されました。

   大正3年に丸志製磁工場として創業したのが始まりで、大正10年に志田陶磁器株式会社に買収されました。その後、昭和59年に工場は操業を停止しましたが、平成9年に塩田町営博物館としてオープンしました。現在は平成18年の塩田町と嬉野町の合併により嬉野市となり、志田焼の里振興会が指定管理者として管理・運営されています。

   志田焼の歴史や製造過程を、施設を回りながら学ぶことができるうえ、10,000点以上に及ぶ美しい呉須を用いて描かれた作品展示を見ることができます。また、体験場ではろくろでの造形体験や絵付けの体験ができ、作った作品は焼成・梱包をして全国各地に宅配便で配送されます。最近では、修学旅行等の体験学習や、若い方の男女のペア、インバウンドで外国のお客さんも体験に来館されており、年々増加傾向にあります。焼き物が好きな方、歴史に関心のある方、記念に残る思い出を作りたい方、老若男女問わず皆さんのお越しをお待ちしております。

[   The Shidayaki No Sato Museum is located in a preserved  factory that once  manufactured Shida ware was given new life as a museum. Shida ware is highly valued historically and was designated as "Japan Heritage" by the Agency of Cultural Affairs in April, 2016.

    The facility got its start as Marushi Seiji Factory (丸志製磁工場), established in 1914, and it was acquired by Shida Toujiki Company (志田陶磁器株式会社) in 1921. The factory halted operations in 1984, but it was reopened in 1997 as museum run by Shiota Town. Now, the Shidayaki No Sato Promotion Association manages and operates the museum, following the merger of Shiota Town and Ureshino Town to form Ureshino City.

    The museum teaches the history and the process of manufacturing Shida ware as you walk around the facility, and you can see more than ten thousand pieces of artwork on display painted with a beautiful blue color called "Gosu." Moreover, you can try forming your own pottery on a pottery wheel or painting your own piece. Your work will then be fired, wrapped, and sent to you even to overseas countries. Recently the number of visitors has been increasing every year, especially students, couples, and foreign tourists. • 公共交通機関をご利用の方は、JR武雄温泉駅から祐徳バス・祐徳神社行き、西山バス停徒歩2分
  [If you use public transportation, you can take a Yutoku Bus (祐徳バス) bound for Yutoku Inari Shrine (祐徳稲荷神社) from JR Takeo-onsen Station (JR武雄温泉駅) and get off at the stop "Nishiyama Stop" (西山).]
• 車でおこしの場合は場合は、武雄北方ICから約15分、嬉野ICから約20分
